LAUNCHING OF THE -VOLCÁN DE TABURIENTE- OF H.J. BARRERAS

The shipyard Barreras concludes the launching of the fourth ferry of a series of six for the company Marítima de Sotavento.

The past 1st of December, the shipyard Hijos de J. Barreras celebrated the launching of the ship Volcán de Taburiente, a ferry built for the Marine company of Sotavento, integrated within the Grupo Armas. The godmother of the launching was Mrs. María Ángeles Hernández de Paz, wife of the Advisor of Infrastructures, Transports and House of the Canary Islands.

This one is the fourth ferry of a series of six in which Barreras are applying their experience and technological knowledge. Both last ships will be similar to the previous ones, but with a greater lifting capacity and a greater size, becoming themselves in the greatest of their class that are in operation in the world.

The Volcán de Taburiente has 130.45 ms of length and 21.60 of sleeve and has been built in collaboration between the technical offices of Barreras and the Grupo Armas.
