Vigo is the most populated city in Galicia so far from A Coruña and with three times of inhabitants of Santiago de Compostela or Lugo. The company Pescanova is also very important for the Vigo economy, with 120 vessels and presence in 21 countries, and 3.399 employees, it has turn into the biggest Spanish fishing company with the biggest fleet of the world.

Extraction, transformation and marketing is one of the most important industries in Vigo. Because of that Spain is on the fifth place in the world ranking of granite Exporters alter China, Italy, Brazil and India. Furthermore it is the leader in transformation of granite in Spain, with the 65% of the total national production, this allows Galician companies reach a turnover of more than 315 million Euro.
