SOERMAR will turn its stand at Navalia 2026 into a space for dialogue between the shipbuilding industry and public authorities. To this end, the organisation will hold several institutional meetings and open sessions with representatives from CDTI (Centre for the Development of Technology and Innovation) and the Ministries of Transport and Industry. Specifically, it has organised open dialogues with Juan Antonio Tébar, Director of Innovation Policies at CDTI, Benito Núñez Quintanilla, Secretary General for Air and Maritime Transport, and Alberto Ruiz Rodríguez, Director General for Industrial Programmes.
The agenda organised by the entity will allow companies from the sector to exchange views and analyse, together with institutional representatives, some of the main challenges facing the shipbuilding industry, particularly in areas linked to innovation, technological development, industrial competitiveness and support policies for the sector.
The first of the meetings will take place on Tuesday 19 May, from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., with an open dialogue between the shipbuilding sector and CDTI featuring Juan Antonio Tébar, Director of Innovation Policies at the organisation. The session will address issues related to innovation applied to the maritime-industrial sector, the promotion of technological projects and opportunities for collaboration between companies and public authorities in the field of R&D&I.
The programme will continue on Wednesday 20 May with an institutional meeting with Benito Núñez Quintanilla, Secretary General for Air and Maritime Transport at the Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility. The meeting will provide an opportunity to exchange views on the strategic challenges facing maritime transport and the role of the shipbuilding industry in the current context of transformation and modernisation within the sector, while also offering first-hand insight into the Ministry’s latest developments and key priorities.
The final day of the trade fair, Thursday 21 May, will focus on the participation of Alberto Ruiz Rodríguez, Director General for Industrial Programmes at the Ministry of Industry and Tourism. In addition to holding several institutional meetings throughout the day, Alberto Ruiz will take part in an open dialogue with companies from the shipbuilding sector at the SOERMAR stand from 1:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. During this session, participants will address issues related to industrial policy, the strengthening of production capacities and support mechanisms for the industrial fabric linked to the shipbuilding sector, at a key moment for the competitiveness and transformation of the industry.
With this programme, “SOERMAR reinforces its commitment to creating spaces for dialogue between companies, institutions and public bodies, fostering the exchange of knowledge and the joint analysis of the challenges and opportunities that will shape the future of the shipbuilding industry,” explains Eva Novoa, Managing Director of SOERMAR.
