Sogoco celebrates its first anniversary, making its mark

The maritime agency SOGOCO is celebrating its first anniversary by attending the trade Fair Navalia. They can be visited at stand 3B28

The Vigo-based firm, co-founded and managed by Juan Goicoechea and Antón Sobrino, is wasting no time. Since its founding in early 2025, they have been working tirelessly to position themselves among the numerous options available in the city and province. Specializing and providing excellent service has led them to expand the range of opportunities they offer to both shipowners and auxiliary companies in the sector. Leveraging synergies is a fundamental part of their work, they proclaim, and numerous opportunities arise while they are working.

“In these times, with fewer and fewer ships, the challenge is even greater, which is why it's essential to be very attentive to clients' needs in order to anticipate their problems and provide the experience that sets us apart,” Sobrino affirms. SOGOCO opened its offices to the public on Calle del Príncipe just a few months after starting out. They have already served a large number of fishing vessels, the specific sector from which both Sobrino and his team come, but they also receive calls from general cargo ships and even the yacht sector.

In addition to acting as ship agents, handling transits, customs procedures, and port operations, they have a portfolio of represented clients for whom they generate business by leveraging the momentum created by their work. In a sector dominated by niche companies, the need to specialize and achieve consistency is paramount for all players. Modernization of companies encompasses all levels, from how they reach clients to the marketing strategies that accompany the relationship. “The wave of modernism has been left behind; it’s catching us off guard. Anyone who wants to survive must adapt, not to the basics, but by doing the same old things differently. We must capture the attention of young people, and the resources of the past must be redefined with the eyes of the future.”
