Zamakona Yards will build a live fish carrier for Trident Aqua Services. Due to delivered in 2028, construction number NB-809 will have a diesel-electric propulsion system and engines with fuel flexibility so they can run on biodiesel.
According to the Basque shipyard, the vessel will be equipped with energy recovery solutions and a high-capacity battery pack to enable hybrid operation, and is equipped with a sizable reverse osmosis system.
Milship Shipping has actively supported the shipyard and the shipowner throughout the process leading up to the contract signing.
This is a design by Salt Ship Design, in which Trident Aqua Services emphasizes that "promoting fish welfare, handling, and biosecurity is our top priority."
The Chairman of Zamakona, Pedro Garaygordobil, comments, “Zamakona strengths its relationship with Trident Aqua Services and support the growth of our esteemed customer. The new contract for Trident is a great success for our company and allows keeping a strong order book for the next 3 years”
The new vessel will measure 80.80 m-length, 17.60 m-beam, and 7.50 m-draft. It will have a tank capacity of 4,000 cubic meters, and a service speed of 11.6 knots.
TRIDENT AQUA SERVICES is the result of the merge between Intership, Aquaship and FSV Group. Trident will operate a fleet of more than 60 vessels, with several newbuilds under construction, and employing around 1,000 people across seven countries. The company’s fleet includes live fish vessels, service vessels, feed carriers and harvest vessels. Trident thus becomes the world’s first company to offer a fully integrated service portfolio across all vessel types required in the aquaculture industry.
