Boluda completes acquisition of Remolcanosa Portugal and expands its fleet in 35 vessels.

The transaction includes 35 vessels and operations in seven Portuguese ports, expanding Valencian group's services in towing, maritime assistance, and ship maintenance
Boluda Corporación Marítima has completed acquisition of 100% of Remolcanosa Portugal – Serviços Marítimos, S.A. and its subsidiaries, in a transaction already notified and approved by the Portuguese Concurrence Authority. The agreement was finalized through BT Luxembourg II S.À R.L., a company controlled by the maritime holding company chaired by Vicente Boluda.
With this merger, the Valencian group has incorporated a fleet of 35 vessels, including three ocean-going tugs—Castelo de Sines, Castelo de São Jorge, and Castelo de Óbidos—along with more than twenty smaller tugs, submarine support vessels, mooring launches, and vessels for transporting personnel associated with offshore wind projects.
The transaction has allowed Boluda to expand its operating range in Portugal to the ports of Viana do Castelo, Aveiro, Figueira da Foz, Lisbon, Setúbal, Sines, and Portimão, where Remolcanosa Portugal already provided towing, salvage, mooring, and offshore assistance services. This presence strengthens Boluda Towage's existing operations in the port of Sines and adds regular calls to Boluda Lines makes in Leixões and Setúbal through its container transport network.
The acquired Portuguese subsidiary has been operating since 1990s and is part of the Galician group Nosa Terra XXI, chaired by María del Rosario Martín Alonso following the legendary shipowner José Silveira death in 2023. In addition to port operations, Remolcanosa Portugal brings together several complementary companies: Tinita (Maritime Transport and Towing), Multisub (Professional Diving Services), Gironave (metalworking industry applied to the naval sector), Reboport and Rebonave (Portuguese towing and maritime assistance companies). These divisions provide specialized services in professional diving, vessel maintenance, technical assistance, and port logistics.
The latest Nosa Terra XXI group non-financial information report indicates Remolcanosa and its subsidiaries have performed 13,788 services annually, with a workforce of over 400 employees and a global fleet of 50 vessels. The company has the capacity to operate in both inland and offshore waters and has consolidated its operations in recent years in the main ports along the Portuguese Atlantic coast. A significant part of this expansion came after the acquisition of Rebonave, formalized at the end of 2021, which allowed it to add a dozen vessels and strengthen its presence in Lisbon and Setúbal.
The acquisition is part of the Boluda Group's international growth plan, which in recent months has advanced its global positioning through several strategic transactions. In April of this year, it announced the purchase of 90% of the Finnish company Arctia Karhu Ltd, specializing in port towage and icebreaking in Northern Europe. Furthermore, in March, it launched operations in Honduras and in February formalized an integration agreement with the tugboat business of Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC), creating an operator with coverage in more than 50 countries.
