Nodosa signs a new tugboat contract for Amare Marín

Cristina A will be specially equipped for deep-sea towing, assisting in berthing and unberthing manoeuvres for all types of vessels, and providing them with a wide range of supplies.
Amare Marín and Nodosa have reached an agreement to begin the construction of a new tugboat. This versatile harbour tug will have a sustained bollard pull of at least 50 tons and will be specially designed for deep-sea towing, assisting vessels in berthing and unberthing manoeuvres, and providing them with a wide range of supplies.
The tugboat's design has been fully developed by the Technical Office of NODOSA SHIPYARD, which has customized every detail to meet the specific needs and requirements of the shipowner.
The Cristina A, the name proposed by the owner, will be classified under international standard RINA C ✠ HULL ⚫ MACH, TUG, Fire Fighting Ship – 1, water-spraying, unrestricted navigation. It will sail under the Spanish flag, be registered under List 1, and fall under SOLAS Group III, Class T.
Modern and distinctive, with a functional architecture suited to its operations, the vessel will be equipped with cutting-edge technology. It will have exceptional manoeuvrability, featuring two shaft lines with azimuth thrusters and a bow thruster to enhance operations in confined areas. With a clear and open deck, a crane suited to its assigned tasks, winches, and a towing equipment adapted to its capabilities, it will also be equipped with a FIFI-1 fire-fighting system and a self-protection “water spray” method.
Designed for unrestricted navigation, the vessel will provide appropriate accommodations to ensure maximum comfort, fully complying with MLC 2006 regulations.
With this new tugboat, NODOSA SHIPYARD reaffirms its expertise and leadership in this type of vessel, marking the seventh unit built for this company. AMARE MARÍN, in turn, will expand its fleet with a high-performance unit capable of meeting the most demanding operational needs in the Port of Marín and the Ría de Pontevedra Estuary.
