Astilleros Zamakona delivers to maritime rescue the multipurpose bowl "Heroines of Sálvora"

Sizes 82 meters, 200 tons of fixed point pull and a total installed power of 15,600 kW, the ship will allow Sasemar to carry out various maritime security actions
Zamakona Shipyards has made the multipurpose ship “Heroínas de Sálvora” available to Maritime Salvage, built at the Santurce facilities. The shipyard points out that "the versatility of the ship" will allow it to act in maritime safety at different levels: rescue and towing; anti-pollution; fire protection; support; and air capacity.
The ship is 82 meters long, has a fixed point pull of 200 tons and a total installed power of 15,600 kW, which "guarantee speed of arrival at the scene of the emergency and towing capacity for large vessels," he highlights. Zamakona, who adds "the ship has all necessary means to rescue people at sea." Regarding its ability to combat pollution, the ship can collect hydrocarbon residues at sea by means of arms and suction pumps, and store and decant them in tanks dedicated to this purpose. She is also capable of performing the same functions with containment barriers and portable pumps.
The ship also incorporates an "effective firefighting service" through water cannons located in the highest part of the ship, thus capable of acting on ships in emergency situations, the shipyard emphasizes.
On the other hand, it points out that the ship has a "large work deck" along with two large-capacity cranes for managing heavy material on board and can act as a support vessel on certain missions. Likewise, it has spaces enabled and equipped for the work of divers, auxiliary equipment, a communications centre, and so on. It also has a night vision camera (FLIR) and a dynamic positioning system that allows it, through thrusters controlled by a central system, to maintain the ship's GPS position regardless of weather conditions.
“Heroínas de Sálvora” is, according to Zamakona, a "pioneer ship in the handling of drones for maritime rescue", as it has a flight deck capable of receiving and handling "large-scale" drone flight operations. Likewise, she has two auxiliary boats: one for rescue and rescue work; and another for waste collection, laying barriers, towing, auxiliary equipment, etc. This is the third vessel with similar characteristics Astilleros Zamakona has built for Maritime Salvage, following "Don Inda" and "Clara Campoamor" delivered in 2006 and 2007 respectively.
