Murueta moves forward in the construction of ‘Arteaga NM’, the new 103 meters diesel-electric freighter for MAAS

It is the fourth project with similar characteristics for the same owner

Murueta Shipyards celebrated last Friday at its Udaibai facilities the blessing and sponsorship of the freighter 'Arteaga NM', which it is building for the shipowner MAAS (Murueta Atlantico Alcudia Shipping) based in Bilbao and which has 13 transport vessels of all type of dry cargo, bulk and large projects throughout Europe, North Africa, and the Black Sea.

It measures 103.4 meters in length and holds a capacity of 8,050 cubic meters, the ship has diesel-electric propulsion, which will allow it to use the power it always needs and optimize consumption during all its voyages. This is the fourth ship with similar characteristics that Astilleros Murueta designs and builds for the shipowner MAAS, after the 'Mundaka NM', the 'Katuxa NM' and the 'Gernika NM'. In all cases, both the conception and design of the vessel have been carried out entirely by the Murueta engineering division in collaboration with the shipowner. The ship will be delivered in June of this year and represents the shipyard's 331st construction.
