Parlevliet & Van der plas ordered Tersan a new state-of-the-art 111.5 meters pelagic freezer trawler

The ship, designed by Skipsteknisk, will have Dutch flag
The work has started at the Turkish shipyard Tersan on a new state-of-the-art pelagic freezer trawler for Parlevliet & Van der Plas in the Netherlands. The ship will have Dutch flag and the home port will be Katwijk. She will replace the former KW 174 Annelies Ilena.
The pelagic freezer trawler is designed by the Norwegian Skipsteknisk, has an overall length of 111.5 meters, is 21.20 meters wide. The delivery of the new vessel is scheduled for November 2024.
The main engine is a Wartsila 32 engine, which is the most fuel-efficient engine in its class. The ship design is optimized in relation to fuel consumption, emissions, and noise. Natural environmentally friendly refrigerants are used to cool, freeze, and store the fish on board. With a crew up to 60 persons, the vessel will be deployed worldwide. She will target pelagic species like herring, sardines, mackerel, horse mackerel and blue whiting. All fish will be frozen on board and is destined for 100% human consumption purposes.
