Armón Vigo launches the hull of the second AHTS from Heerema to advance in the tuna fishing boats

The naval Group delivers the first of the fourteen tugboats for the Panama Canal Time is short in the Vigo's shipyard from Armón group. Coia's factory has launched the hull of the second AHTS from the Dutch company Heerema in order to empty slipways to build the first tuna fishing boats for Mexico. The vessel, named Kolga, is 78 meters long.
Kolga is the second unit of a series of two vessels (the first one was named Bylgia) awarded to the shipyard from Vigo in October of 2011. The urgency in launching the hull is that the company from Asturias should keep to the delivery deadlines with the nine tuna fishing boats they had achieved in 2012, that's why the Kolga will be finished afloat in their docks.
Armon Vigo is the shipyard with the biggest workload in the area, with these two AHTS, the two tuna fishing boats, and a ocean graphic vessel for the Mexican Government. In total the Armón group has in their order list nine tuna fishing boats, two for a Basque company, and other seven for a Mexican company. The naval consortium has just deliver first of the fourteen tugboats that they are building for the Panama Canal, named Cerro Itamut. This contract was awarded after win in a international tender to other shipyards. (Source: FARO DE VIGO)
