Navalia Moves Forward with Greece on National Participation in Its 2028 Edition

The organisation holds a meeting at the Embassy of Greece in Spain following the country’s interest in strengthening its presence at the next edition of the trade fair

Navalia continues to advance the internationalisation of its eleventh edition, which will be held in Vigo from 23 to 25 May 2028, with a meeting held today at the Embassy of Greece in Spain to explore the possibility of Greek national participation in the next edition.

The meeting was attended by Pantelis Gassios, Counsellor for Economic and Commercial Affairs and Head of the Greek Economic and Commercial Office in Spain, with whom the Navalia organisation had previously worked to promote the attendance of Greek companies at the 2024 edition. Annita Triposkoufi, representative of Enterprise Greece, also joined the meeting remotely to explore the possibilities and different approaches for establishing a coordinated Greek presence at Navalia 2028.

Today’s meeting was held at the initiative of the Greek side, which contacted the organisation shortly after the conclusion of Navalia 2026 to express its interest in having national representation at the next edition. At the 2026 edition, representatives of HEMEXPO, the Hellenic Marine Equipment Manufacturers and Exporters Association, visited Navalia and took part in the inward trade mission organised by Aclunaga and Igape. Contacts with the Greek shipbuilding industry have continued since then, and both parties met again recently during SMM in Hamburg earlier this month.

With this meeting, the Navalia organisation begins a series of visits to different embassies in Spain as part of its international promotion strategy for Navalia 2028, aimed at consolidating markets already represented at the trade fair while encouraging the participation of new international companies and delegations.
