Navalia participates in the 4th Meeting of the Advisory Council of the Defence Industry Cluster
The meeting, held in Madrid, was attended by Josep Borrell, former Vice-President of the European Commission and High Representative of the EU for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy
The director of Navalia, Javier Arnau, participated this Friday in the 4th meeting of the Advisory Council of the Defence Industry Cluster (CID), held in Madrid and focused on the challenges and opportunities facing the sector in light of the current budget increase in Spain and Europe as a whole.
Navalia has been an active member of the CID since 2023, chairing the Shipbuilding working group, one of the cluster's strategic areas and a field in which the fair contributes its global vision and international connections as a leading event in the naval and maritime sector. In addition, since the beginning of this year, it has served as the CID’s north-western delegation.
The Madrid meeting, whose central theme was ‘The challenges facing the defence industry in light of budget increases in Spain and Europe’, was attended by leading experts from the industrial, technological and military fields, whose presentations analysed the impact of the new budgetary scenario on the value chain, the weaknesses and challenges for Spain of the European Union's Rearmament Plan, and the role of Artificial Intelligence in the face of the current challenges facing the defence industry.

The session also featured a special guest, Josep Borrell, former Vice-President of the European Commission and High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, who offered a strategic reflection on geopolitical challenges and the role that the European defence industry will need to play in the coming years.
