Navalia is targeting Asian market with a ten-day tour of Thailand and the Philippines
They will participate in the Thailand Marine & Offshore Expo (TMOX) in Bangkok, on a trip organised by Aclunaga and supported by IGAPE (Galician Institute of Economic Promotion) and Xunta de Galician Regional Government
Southeast Asia, with its predominantly island geography, comprised of thousands of islands and extensive coastlines, has become one of the areas with the greatest potential for the Spanish shipbuilding sector. Aware of this, Navalia begins a ten-day tour of Thailand and the Philippines today. The trip, organized by Aclunaga with the support of Igape and Galician Regional Government, will begin with participation in Thailand Marine & Offshore Expo (TMOX) in Bangkok, where the Galician cluster will have its own stand.
In Thailand, several meetings are planned with the main Thai association in the sector. After the trade fair, the delegation will travel to Manila for a working lunch with representatives of the Philippine maritime sector, from entities dedicated to foreign investment to those focused on port and maritime affairs. The following day, a trip to Cebu is planned to visit several shipyards.
Southeast Asia maintains a structural dependence on the sea, generating a sustained demand for various types of vessels (ferries, inter-island cargo ships, fishing vessels, and port support vessels), as well as fleet maintenance and modernization services. In the Philippines alone, for example, there are more than a thousand ports (821 commercial ports and 429 fishing ports). In this context, the Spanish shipbuilding industry, recognized for its technological capabilities, experience in building specialized vessels, and commitment to sustainability, is in a competitive position to offer solutions tailored to the region's needs. Furthermore, economic growth, the expansion of maritime tourism, and transport modernization programs promoted by countries in this region strengthen opportunities for commercial and industrial cooperation between Spain and Southeast Asia.
