Navalia organizes the Defence Industry Cluster Advisory Council III Meeting

Vigo will host this meeting, which will be held on the 25th of October outside its region of origin for the first time.

Navalia organizers are currently finalizing details of the Defence Industry Cluster Advisory Council III Meeting, which for the first time since its birth will move its annual meeting outside its region of origin to be held in Vigo on the 25th of October.

Defence Industry Cluster (CID) is a pioneering non-profit initiative in Spain, formally born on the 20th of July 2019, coinciding with the 920th anniversary of El Cid passed away. Since its inception, it has received the institutional support of the General Directorate of Armament and Material (DGAM) of the Ministry of Defence. It welcomes companies already being developed all or part of their activity in the field of defence; but also, those having productive and technological capacities or products of interest to defence and wish to enter the sector. It also brings together public and private entities and research and knowledge centres.

Muéstralo SL. the company that organises NAVALIA trade fair, is a member of the CID and is the only Galician company also part of the collaborators list of the group. In addition, its director, Javier Arnau, is the president of one of the 16 working groups of the Cluster, specifically of GT2 dedicated to shipbuilding.

The meeting in Vigo, will bring together more than fifty guests and whose axis will be “The challenges of the defence industry in a scenario of uncertainty: impact of Draghi Report”, will feature presentations by:

  • José Vicente de los Mozos. CEO of Indra.
  • Lieutenant General Rubén Carlos García Servert. Vice-president of the CACID.
  • Ramón Tamames. Professor of Economic Structure.
  • Admiral General Fernando García Sánchez.
  • Vice-Admiral Manuel Antonio Martínez Ruiz.
  • Brigadier General Juan Bautista Sánchez Gamboa.
  • Captain of the Navy Ignacio García Sánchez.

At the end of the meeting, Lieutenant General Rubén Carlos García Servert, vice-president of CACID, will oversee presenting the conclusions.
