Navalia travels to Murcia to visit the Naval and Maritime Technology Centre

The director of the exhibition, Javier Arnau, also attended the presentation of the Maritime Strategy of the Region

The director of Navalia, Javier Arnau, recently travelled to Murcia to see first-hand the Maritime Strategy Centre, where he met with its director Noelia Ortega. The Naval and Maritime Technology Centre (CTN) has established itself as a benchmark in the field of technological development for the blue economy, and as a space where open innovation and technology merge to promote maritime excellence. Its focus goes beyond research and development, as it is a meeting point where technological challenges find collaborative solutions through open innovation. Companies can share their needs and challenges in an ecosystem that promotes creativity and cooperation.

On the other hand, and coinciding with the visit, Arnau also attended the presentation of the Maritime Strategy of the Region of Murcia, an event chaired by the Regional Minister for Water, Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries, Sara Rubira Martínez. The document offers an overall vision for the development of activities to promote the blue economy, which sets out the route for boosting the region's Integrated Maritime Policy. The plan, to be implemented until 2030, states that 15% of the energy produced in the Region should be of marine origin and includes 150 measures to boost the blue economy while respecting ecosystems. Economic activity linked to the sea is worth 12,000 million euros and represents more than a third of the region's Gross Domestic Product.
