The month of July is being intense in terms of events and meetings for the naval sector. The director of Navalia, Javier Arnau, attended the 45th General Assembly of the Spanish Maritime Cluster, where, among other issues, the agreement between the CME and Educación Azul was presented with the aim of promoting and developing the blue economy and encouraging professional vocations in the maritime sector among the Spanish society, especially among the youngest. This agreement, signed by the president of the CME, Javier Garat Pérez, and the president of Educación Azul, Mercedes Pardo Gil-Alberdi, represents a significant step for both institutions in their efforts to bring the maritime sector closer to the population and to highlight its strategic importance for the economic and social development of Spain.

On the other hand, Arnau also participated in the fellowship dinner of the Naval Engineers Association in which the director of Navalia presented the Innovation 2024 award to the best project in the Innovation Zone of the 2024 edition, a space organised by AINE and sponsored by the Consorcio de la Zona Franca de Vigo. The award, announced during the ninth edition of the fair, went to Green Foiling Spain, a project carried out by 36 students from 5 schools of the Polytechnic University of Madrid. Their aim is to compete in the Monaco Energy Boat Challenge and to do so they are designing a boat with a hydrogen fuel cell and foils. This project, a pioneer in Spain, seeks to contribute to the development of the naval industry, providing a platform for testing and development while offering students additional training.

The gala awards ceremony of the business awards of the province of Cadiz "Noche de la Empresa 2024" was the next stop of Navalia, a meeting that took place in the exceptional setting of the Fortaleza de San Lorenzo, in El Puntal, a historic building belonging to the Spanish Navy. In addition, and taking advantage of the visit, Javier Arnau held several meetings with representatives of institutions and companies of the naval sector of Cadiz to outline the third edition of Navalia Meeting 2025, which will take place in the Bay of Cadiz from 17 to 19 September next year. Among others, he spoke with the Mayor of Cádiz, Bruno García; with representatives of the Navy, and with the president of the Hoteliers of the province of Cádiz (Horeca), Antonio de María Ceballos.

Finally, this week Navalia's management took part in the assembly of members of the Defence Industry Cluster (CID), of which it has been a member for the last year and in which it is particularly active.
