The V National Maritime Congress closures with great participation success

The high-quality of the lectures has filled up Madrid’s Congress

The V National Maritime Congress held in Madrid last February 8th and 9thc losed its doors with great participation success. Organized by the Royal Spanish Naval League and the Spanish Maritime Cluster, being NAVALIA the main sponsorship, the lectures, of the highest quality, included the main actors and topics of the Spanish maritime sector: Spanish Navy, fishing sector, ports, the protection of underwater heritage, the shipyards of the future, blue fuels, floating offshore wind power and the sector's relationship with the media.

The congress also featured a conference dedicated to vindicating the figure of Jorge Juan on the 250th anniversary of his death. For this fifth edition, congress organizers chose the motto "Future is blue" as they consider sea will be the future of this society, and curiously it is an unknown sector to citizens in general, being a sector that contributes 7 % of GDP and accounts for 6% of national employment.

Organizers will now write a "Conclusions Notebook" to be sent to the Government, political parties, press and maritime associations, collecting the conclusions provided in the Congress. It is estimated the next appointment of this event will take place in 2025.
