The first refrigerated ship for Acemix will begin to be built before the end of the year

To give a boost to the deep-sea fleet renovation project, Aclunaga and Acemix will meet today the regional ministries of Industry and Sea The Galician Naval Cluster Association (Aclunaga) and the Fishing Community Companies and Joint Ventures Association (Acemix) hope that the deep-sea fleet renovation according to the projects in which they are working together can begin before the end of the year.
To boost the works for the deep-sea fleet renovation project, Aclunaga and Acemix will meet today in Santiago the managers of the regional ministries of Industry and Sea, apart from Igape.
Until now seven ship owner companies have undertaken to build one ship each distributed in the Galician shipyards Freire, Armón, Nodosa, and José Valiña. The three projects of the refrigerated ships are already designed, but now the subject of the financing is not closed. The cost of these vessels, some of them reach 100 meters long, will be around 20 millions Euros. The will incorporate last technologies and will be the replacement of units that in some cases have more than 30 years of activity.
"Nobody, that Works in this project, and we are a lot, is loosing his time and we want to speed up the process"; said the Aclunaga's president, José Domínguez.
The shipyards employer's representative says that the construction agreement of these ships "is an opportunity for shipyards and ship owners. We need to built ships and Fishing companies need to renew their fleets".
