NAVANTIA FERROL WILL LAUNCH IN MARCH THE LARGEST WARSHIP OF SPAIN
On the 10th of March the Kings Don Juan Carlos and Doña Sofía will preside at the Ferrol-Fene shipyard of the public company Navantia the launch of the Strategic Projection Vessel (BPE, Spanish acronym)”Juan Carlos I”, the largest warship of the Spanish Navy. The vessel will have capacity for transporting more than 27.000 tons of cargo, about 1.500 soldiers, and 18 airplanes, including fighter-bombers and naval helicopters. It will be more than 230 meters, will have 7 meters of draft and 32 meter of beam, the BPE (Strategic Projection Vessel) is the largest warship designed and built by Navantia, which before handing over the ship to the Spanish Navy has signed its first export contract with Australia.
