Ghenova to Collaborate with the Spanish Navy on R&D&I Activities

The Chief of Staff of the Spanish Navy welcomed Ghenova's CEO for the signing of the General Framework Agreement establishing this collaboration in the development of innovative solutions and technologies.

Ghenova will collaborate with the Spanish Navy on research, development and innovation (R&D&I) activities under the General Framework Agreement recently signed by Ghenova's CEO, Francisco Cuervas, and the Chief of Staff of the Spanish Navy, Admiral General Antonio Piñeiro. The agreement establishes Ghenova's collaboration with the Ministry of Defence – Spanish Navy.

During the high-level meeting, held yesterday in the Chief of Staff's conference room at the Spanish Navy Headquarters and attended by representatives of both institutions, the agreement was formally signed. Its purpose is to establish a framework for collaboration in the development of innovative solutions and technologies.

Specifically, the collaboration between the Spanish Navy and Ghenova will focus on innovation, research and development initiatives of mutual interest. The agreement establishes cooperation in a range of areas and activities, including:

• Participation in the analysis and evaluation of future systems that may be of interest to both parties.
• Technical support in logistics management and industrial engineering.
• Cooperation in identifying innovative solutions and sharing engineering expertise to enhance operational capability and effectiveness in both specific and joint missions.

The Spanish Navy has personnel, resources and facilities that may be used to support the initiatives agreed with Ghenova, provided that such collaboration does not interfere with the fulfilment of the Navy's National Defence missions or fall within the exclusive remit of other public bodies.

The high-level meetings held by the Spanish Navy with leading Spanish defence companies, such as Ghenova Ingeniería, reflect the strategic importance of the national defence industry to the Navy and further demonstrate the close and longstanding relationship between the Navy and an industrial sector that generates significant benefits for the country as a whole.
