Merchant Union Returns to Navalia 2026 with a strong commitment to innovation, leading international brands, and Artificial Intelligence
Specializing in manufacturing, distribution, and expert consultancy, Merchant Union continues transforming challenges into solutions for its clients, consolidating its position as a benchmark in the naval and industrial sectors thanks to a track record built on experience, close customer relationships, and constant innovation.
Merchant Union will once again participate in the international trade fair Navalia 2026, reaffirming its commitment to the maritime and industrial sectors after more than 25 years of experience and operations in over 15 countries. At this year’s edition of Navalia, the company will feature an innovative stand showcasing some of the leading international brands it represents and distributes, including Repsol Lubricants, International Paints, and Thyboron Trawl Doors.
In addition, 2026 is proving to be a particularly significant year for Merchant Union following the confirmation of its acquisition of the former Xylazel plant located in the As Gándaras industrial estate in O Porriño. This operation represents the reindustrialization of one of Galicia’s most important industrial infrastructures: a facility spanning more than 17,000 m², designed to operate under the highest technical, regulatory, and safety standards.
The incorporation of these facilities marks a strategic milestone for the company, enabling the centralization of advanced specialized storage capabilities, industrial production, and technical support services, thereby strengthening the service offered to high-consumption maritime and industrial clients.
The new plant will include approximately 5,000 m² of storage capacity, 3,000 m² of production areas, and a laboratory exceeding 600 m², reinforcing the group’s commitment to industrial innovation, technological development, and the creation of new business lines.
As one of the major highlights of this year, Merchant Union will officially present Mu Cortex, developed in collaboration with MTI, the group’s Artificial Intelligence division. This new technological initiative will be unveiled during Navalia’s Technical Sessions, where the company will deliver the presentation:
“AI-Driven Digitalization: The Present of the Naval, Industrial, and SME Sectors”
The session will offer a practical and approachable overview of real Artificial Intelligence implementation cases within companies working with the group, demonstrating how AI is already optimizing processes and improving competitiveness across industrial and naval sectors.
Attendees will also enjoy a live demonstration showcasing process optimization through Artificial Intelligence applied to real working environments.
The event will take place on May 20 at 12:00 PM in the Xunta de Galicia Hall, as part of Navalia’s Technical Program.
