Spanish shipyard Cardama presents guarantees for the construction of Uruguay's OPVs

Last Friday, Astilleros Cardama submitted guarantees for the construction of the OPV in Uruguay, as reported by specialized portal, Infodefensa, after weeks of contradictory news. With this delivery, the shipyard fulfils all the requirements requested to be able to begin the construction of two ocean patrol vessels designed by the Spanish company Cintranaval, a company with extensive experience in the design of vessels of all types.
The contract for these units, which exceeds 82 million euros, establishes the first of them will have to be delivered in 18 months and the second, 12 months later. It also establishes an international classification society participation that will control the ship construction process together with representatives of the Uruguayan Navy.
