Abanca funds the first of the three new trawlers of Pescanova

These will be steamships with 50 metres in length.

Abanca will finance the construction of the first of the steamships with which Nueva Pescanova will make a renewal of part of its fleet in Namibia and Mozambique. The bank will provide solely the funding for a 50 metres-long fishing vessel, valued in around 10 million euros. It will be built in Armón Vigo, just as the other two trawlers and one of the shrimper vessels of Mozambique. The announcement was formalized the first day of Navalia 2018.

“The supply of financial resources for the construction of this first vessel involves, in the first place, the empowerment of the productive capacities of Nueva Pescanova, one of the Galician flagship and world benchmark company of the fishing sector”, has pointed Abanca.
Moreover, they added, “it constitutes an important support for the Galician shipbuilding industry”.
