Nodosa prepares the tuna fishing boat “Jane IV” for being a reference in responsible fishing

The improvements made in the Galician company will reduce the environmental impact of its activity and will improve the conditions of life, work, and safety of sailors.

The shipyard Nodosa will end in the following days the remodeling works in the tuna fishing boat “Jane IV”, from the fishing company Ugavi. The purpose of the improvements is to adapt the vessel to the standards of the AENOR rules about responsible fishing. The “Jane IV” will turn into one of the first vessels in which changes to adapt to new regulation will be implemented.
In a visit to the boat organized yesterday, the regional minister of the sea, Rosa Quintana, and the general secretary of fishing of the ministry of environment, Andrés Hermida, showed their support to the implementation of this initiative that promotes the responsible fishing in tuna fishing boats. Hermida informed that through the improvements the national tuna fishing fleet would realize a difference in its product.
