PEMEX chooses JRC equipment for 9x tugboats
Alphatron Marine Iberia has secured an order of 9 tugboat bridge packages for the Mexican oil company Petróleos Mejicanos (PEMEX). All packages include JRC equipment for navigation and communication GMDSS A3.
This the first order ever received by the recently created JRC/Alphatron Marine office in Madrid, Spain from where supply and logistics are being coordinated.
The construction of the tugs is taking place at the Mexican shipyard “Astilleros de Marina – Salina Cruz” located in Oaxaca, some 650kms south of Acapulco in the Pacific Coast. The project is part of PEMEX program of fleet renewal jointly carried out with the Navy of Mexico. The tugs are 32m LOA and 11m beam with cycloidal type Voith-Schneider propulsion systems.
