Three shipyards from Vigo finalize the construction of a lot of seven vessels for a foreign government for 120 millions Euros aprox, according to what the Genaral Manager of Cardama, Mario Cardama said yesterday. The order is divided in patrol boats, multi-purpose and a hospital vessel, and it would guarantee three years of work. Sources from the naval sector said that Cardama would have associated with the subsidiary from Vigo of the Asturian group Armon and with Astilleros Armada to present the winner offer.
'The Project is closed', affirmed the manager, but the definitive signature of the contract is waiting for, between other factors, the government 'enunciate the economical needs'. If it happens each shipyard will spread out the vessels according their capacities and specialties. Cardama is confident that the ship owner gives his ok 'at any time'.
