MetalShips closed the first big contract with out "tax lease" in Galicia with an off-shore of 100 millions

The new order is an off-shore Pipelay Construction Vessel ordered by the North American shipping company MCDermottt, the shipyard from Vigo had already built other two similar vessels. The order for MetalShips is a twin vessel to other two off-shore that the shipyard delivered. The last one was the North Ocean 105 that was incorporated to McDermott last 20th of April.

The new vessel, that will be the construction C295 of the shipyard from Rios, will be in charge of the underwater pipes laying for the marine oil platforms.

This new unit will be 135 meters long and 27 meters wide. It will incorporate as well as its predecessors, an heliport in the bow and it will have in the stern , from where underwater pipes will be launch, two cranes able to move 400 tones.

The C295 deliver will be on June 2014 and will generate 1 million hours of work, "that will mean an oxygen balloon for auxiliary companies of naval sector that usually collaborate with Metalhips", according shipyard sources.

The vessel will be the 10th offshore unit of oil platforms support built by MetalShips, where tomorrow the C294 will be launched for the French Shopping company Technip and which deliver is foreseen for next February
