Navalia informs about the visit of a Philippine delegation for 2026

The meeting with the Philippine Embassy in Spain reinforces the positioning of the Asian country as an emerging priority market for our shipbuilding industry.

Navalia continues to consolidate its internationalization strategy in Asia with a new step in preparation for next edition of the trade fair, which will take place from May 19th to 21st. Navalia's director, Javier Arnau, flied to Madrid for a working meeting with Althea Karen Antonio, Commercial Counsellor at the Philippine Embassy in Spain.

The meeting eager to define the work plan for the Philippine delegation at Navalia 2026, including the participation of public institutions and companies linked to strategic sectors such as defence, fishing, and offshore wind energy. It is worth highlighting everything will be possible thanks to the reverse trade missions coordinated by Aclunaga, in collaboration with the Chambers of Commerce of Pontevedra, Vigo, and Vilagarcía de Arousa, and Vigo Free Trade Zone, which will support direct contact between Spanish companies and key players in the Asian country.

With this meeting, the trade fair follows up on the trade mission organized last November by Aclunaga to Thailand and the Philippines. During the trip, Navalia organizers met some companies, shipyard associations, and institutions in both countries. The visit confirmed the growing interest in Southeast Asia for the Spanish naval supply industry, especially in markets with strong activity in shipbuilding, repair, and maritime services.

In the words of Navalia's director, "The Philippines is consolidating its position as a priority market for our sector, and its presence at Navalia 2026 will open new avenues for industrial and technological collaboration in key areas for the future of shipbuilding."
