Navalia attends Javier Garat appointment act as new president of the Spanish Maritime Cluster

At the meeting, the first Federico Esteve awards were also presented, to praise the figure of the man who was honorary president of the Cluster until just a year ago

Navalia management was present last November 28 at the official appointment of Javier Garat as the new president of the Spanish Maritime Cluster.

He takes over Alejandro Aznar (Grupo Ibaizabal), who for 9 years has done a magnificent job of positioning the blue economy inside and outside Spain and who has had very special treatment with our fair during his mandate.
The new president of the Spanish Maritime Cluster, a full academician of the Sea Royal Academy, has an extensive career in the field of fishing beginning in 1996 when he joined the team of the Legal Service of the European Commission and as the Fisheries Counsellor assistant of the Spanish Permanent Representation into the European Union.

Garat is also president of the Fishing Producer Organizations in Spain Association, president of the National Organizations of Fishing Companies of the EU (Europêche) Association and also presides over the International Coalition of Fishing Associations (ICFA). Likewise, he is a member of the European Economic and Social Committee, and of the Blue Economy Commission of CEOE.
Likewise, and as members of Aclunaga board of directors, Navalia had the honour of speaking about the situation of the shipbuilding industry in Galicia and the importance of continuing to work both on external promotion and on the training and qualification of professionals to introduce them into the sector (a topic that was already discussed last week at the conference organized by Navalia, on Talent in the Shipbuilding sector, with great attendance).

Together with the Cádiz Naval Maritime Cluster, the Maritime Cluster of Cantabria, the Basque Maritime Forum, the Canary Islands’ Maritime Cluster, the Andalusian Maritime-Marine Cluster, the Balearic Islands’ Maritime Cluster and the Naval and Sea Technology Centre, we covered all the current topics and the needs that our industry has for the nearest future.
