Navalia resumes contact with Canada
The trade fair has is already completed the venue Halls 1 and 2
Mr Javier Arnau, Director of Navalia, has hold a meeting in Madrid with Ives Belliveau, commercial attaché and first Secretary of the Canadian Embassy in Spain. The objective of this meeting was to resume talks to get Canadian companies in the next edition of Navalia, as exhibitors or visitors.
The trade fair organizers are working with the aim of bringing over a delegation of shipyards to promote our naval industry, especially companies dedicated to military construction. It is, therefore, about resuming negotiations began a few days before the 2020 pandemic, and which had to be postponed. At that time, Navalia team held several meetings in Halifax and Vancouver with companies and institutions in Canada, also visiting several facilities, such as Irving or Seaspan Shipyards. Likewise, and within the framework of Colombiamar fair held last March in Cartagena de Indias, the commercial team has already advanced several meetings with the Canadian Embassy in Colombia.
The matter is that the Canadian country has already had successful business relationships with Galician companies. This is the case of the Gabadi firm, winner of a contest to build 6 guard backs five years ago three of them have already being delivered and they have recently managed to add 2 more to mentioned contract. Another example is Ferri, a Galician company that already works with Canadian shipyards and plans to improve their investments.
