Alfonso Rueda opens NAVALIA 2024 Executive Committee

The organization works so that the new appointment shall occupied four pavilions of the fairground. Ghenova joins the Committee, which already has 23 members between companies and institutions.

Vigo's International Shipbuilding Exhibition has just set up its Executive Committee for NAVALIA 2024. This first working meeting was attended by the president of the Xunta de Galicia, Alfonso Rueda, accompanied by the first vice president and Minister of Economy, Industry and Innovation, Francis Count. The Executive Committee establishment is the new edition starting signal, the ninth in this case.

Navalia's President, José García Costas, thanked the Galician Regional President attendance and the Xunta de Galicia (regional Government) willingness  to participate in the event: “it is an honour for us to have your presence at this first meeting; we want 2024 edition to be a success again, we want Navalia to continue consolidating itself as a benchmark within the sector and that is why we continue working to add more international presence. We are sure we will have the Xunta de Galicia support in this respect. They are already showing us this support today, with the president and the Minister of Economy attendance, a support that comes from many past editions, and I fully trust they will do so, once again, during the organization of the new Navalia's appointment, which will be the ninth”, asserted the President of the trade fair.

One of Navalia's hallmarks is having a work team "at the highest level" from its inception, as Garcia Costas recognized. Edition after edition, it tries to include all the agents and sectors directly and indirectly related to the shipbuilding industry. "It is a great personal satisfaction for me to be able to count on the work, experience and effort, always disinterested and for the good of the sector, of our Executive Committee", explained García Costas, who also pointed out that most of its members have been with us since the birth of the fair in 2006.

Joining previous editions members, Ghenova has been incorporated this year, so that the current committee already has 23 members between companies and institutions. In addition, Galicia ICEX new director, Patricia Pérez Martínez, attends the meeting for the first time.

During the work meeting, Javier Arnau reported on the occupancy figures for Navalia 2024. In addition to the space reservations produced at the closure of the last fair, the great work carried out by the commercial team is added, which represents an occupancy of 70 % with respect to the total square meters of Navalia 2022, even though organizers will add a new pavilion on this occasion. Since 2016 Navalia has occupied three pavilions, but in 2024 it will fill four. Regarding the international presence, and in addition to the companies that already have the space reserved, international pavilions from the Netherlands, Cape Verde, Paraguay, Argentina and Colombia are confirmed for the moment. Regarding Colombia, Javier Arnau also explained that Navalia will take part as exhibitor at the Colombiamar fair on the next 8, 9 and 10 March.
