NAVALIA RATIFIES ITS INTENTION TO HOLD A CONGRESS IN JULY 2021
The Mayor of Vigo, Abel Caballero, shows his support for the event that will take place in the Auditorium Mar de Vigo
Navalia will gather the naval sector in July 2021 if the situation of the pandemic allows it. Javier Arnau, director of the international event met today with Abel Caballero, Mayor of Vigo, to convey the plans of the organization after the cancellation of the exhibition. The eighth edition of Navalia should have been held in October 2020, after being postponed in May, but finally could not open its doors. Therefore, and with the aim of maintaining the biennial periodicity of the event, but in the spirit of being present every year, the organization has decided to hold its International Congress in odd years. The first meeting of this new initiative will be held in July 2021, specifically in the Auditorium Mar de Vigo and thanks to the support shown by the councillor from Vigo.
The congress, which still outlines its final programme, will have round tables, trade missions and certain official events scheduled for 2020. It will also serve to analyze the current moment of the naval industry. Abel Caballero, as Mayor of Vigo and President of the FEMP (Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces) was willing to contact the mayors of Spanish cities that have weight in shipbuilding such as Ferrol, Gijón, Bilbao, Cadiz or Barcelona, to participate in the event.
Finally, Caballero transferred to Javier Arnau the support of the local government for the next edition of the exhibition scheduled for 2022 and already has dates: 24, 25 and 26 May.
