Shipyard Lisnave goes to Navalia 2012

The LISNAVE Mitrena shipyard, ideally located for vessels trading in or passing through Atlantic and Mediterranean waters, is located near Setúbal, just 60 kilometres south of Lisbon international airport.

With six drydocks having a capacity up to 700,000dwt, all necessary workshops, seven jetties with a total length of 1,400 metres, 20 travelling cranes up to 100 tons and one gantry crane (over DD20) of 500 tons, LISNAVE offers first-class facilities for any kind of ship repairs and conversions.

A major advantage of the yard's location is the year-round excellent weather that Portugal enjoys. It is normally fair and mild, ideal for outside works and hull treatment. More than 70 percent of LISNAVE clients are repeat customers. Despite the present world wide economic reality, LISNAVE have repaired during 2011 a total of 101 vessels.

All types of ships have been in yard docks, as Bulk Carriers, containers, dredgers, Passenger and General Cargo vessels, LPG's, Car Carriers and tankers, belonging to fifty nine (59) different clients coming from twenty one (21) countries (Greece, Singapore, Germany, Cyprus, Denmark, Japan, Monaco and Norway).

One of the reasons of LISNAVE's success is the "repeated business" by companies and ship owners around the world who rely on Lisnave the responsibility for maintenance of their vessels, thereby acknowledging the high quality of work done by the yard. Nearly 70% of the workload is from repeated customers, being the AET SHIPMANAGEMENT the best example with 11 vessels repaired in 2011.

Other regular visitors to LISNAVE include Denmark's DAMPSKIBSSELSKABET NORDEN A/S, which began using the facilities some two years ago, and has sent five tankers to repair.

From Greece, TSAKOS GROUP sent four tankers, EURONAV sent five tankers, DELTA TANKERS and OSG SHIPMANAGEMENT sent two vessels each to repair.

AP MOLLER, Cyprus's SOVCOMFLOT, Norway BW SHIPMANAGEMENT and German's ER SHIPPING were also regular clients during 2011.
