Navalia Meeting Organisers and Cadiz Free Trade Zone Recognise Contributions to shipbuilding industry and Blue Economy

Diego Fernández Casado, Astilleros Gondán, José Antonio Rodríguez Poch, and the Spanish Maritime Cluster were honoured
As it has become tradition, the organisers of Navalia presented their annual awards yesterday, recognising the achievements of professionals and companies within shipbuilding industry. This year, an additional award was introduced by Cádiz Free Trade Zone, placing blue economy at the forefront of Navalia Meeting 2025-Blue Zone Forum.
In this edition, Navalia recognised the distinguished professional career of Diego Fernández Casado, President of the Spanish Association of Naval and Ocean Engineers; the legacy of Astilleros Gondán — whose centenary was celebrated in 2025 — with the award received by its President, Álvaro Platero; and a special Navalia Meeting 2025 award (posthumous) to José Antonio Rodríguez Poch, former Director of Navantia in Cadiz Bay, which was received by his daughter.
For its side, Cádiz Free Trade Zone acknowledged the work of the Spanish Maritime Cluster in promoting the blue economy. The award was accepted by its President, Javier Garat.
