NAVALIA MEETING to be held on 20th-22nd September 2023 in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria

Gran Canaria city Council will promote the second edition of this event, organized by Navalia with the support of Canary Islands Maritime Cluster and Port Companies’ Canary Islands Federation
The second edition of Navalia Meeting already has a date and place: it will be held from the 20th to the 22nd of September 2023 in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. The event will take place mainly at the Gran Canaria Trade Fair Institute (Infecar) and will be promoted by the Cabildo de Gran Canaria (Gran Canaria city Council); it is organized by Navalia and will have the support of Canary Islands Maritime Cluster, Port Companies’ Canary Islands Federation and Infecar.
The main objective of the event will be, once again, to bring together the shipbuilding industry and promote a calmer point of reflection, allowing a relaxed networking atmosphere. “Navalia is the top trade fair within the sector in Spain and the third most important in Europe, and the maelstrom of meetings, visits and even events during the three days did not allow this type of professional relationships. That is why, after the requests of many exhibitors, we decided to bet on this format for odd years; an event that brings together conferences, round tables and lots, lots of time for work meetings, outside of a trade fair as demanding and crowded as Navalia”, explains Javier Arnau, Director of Navalia.
Although the first edition was held during the pandemic and under strict sanitary measures to guarantee attendees safety, the success of the event was such that several regions offered to organize the next meeting. "It was a great support for the organizers to know that Navalia Meeting had been really positive for the industry at a key moment. And the fact that several regions offered to host the next edition, reinforced our idea of organizing permanently in odd years this new format” points out Arnau.
The interest shown from Las Palmas has been constant since 2021 and that is why the organization has decided to transfer this second edition to the island. "The marine-maritime vocation of Gran Canaria Island is unequivocal. The city Council is promoting a multitude of initiatives within the framework of blue economy, especially in the port sector. So, we are delighted an event of this type is reinforcing our blue strategy by providing indisputable added value" explains Raúl García Brink, technical coordinator of Economic Development, Energy Sovereignty, Climate and Knowledge of the Cabildo de Gran Canaria (Gran Canaria city Council).
Navalia Meeting 2023 will once again hold its gala dinner in which, a recognition will be given to a shipbuilding industry representative. It will have a maximum capacity of 300 professionals and registrations will be opened in April next year. Updates and meeting information will be available at www.navalia.es/en/congress
