Aister delivers the new MZ10 Fisheries Inspector for Ibiza Island Council

The patrol boat exceeds 45 knots of speed. Its functional and modern design ensures a comfortable and agile navigation.

After awarding the contract by a public tender for the design and construction of a fishing inspector patrol boat for the Consell Insular d'Eivissa (regional government of Ibiza), at AISTER we began last April designing and manufacturing phase of this first MZ10 model. Now, after seven months of construction and having been launched and delivered, the vessel has already begun to operate in Mediterranean waters.

The same as the MZ12 for Junta de Andalucía (Andalusian regional Government) are currently under construction at the shipyard, the MZ10 stands out for its agility and top speed, characteristics that make it the perfect boat for fishing inspection work in coastal and port areas.

9.4 m-long and 3.1m-beam, the AISTER MZ10 is equipped with two outboard motors of 300 HP each allowing to exceed 45 knots at top speed. It has a foam core belt of polyurethane-coated polyethylene and great hydrodynamics thanks to its deep V hull in naval aluminium.

The boat also stands out for having a control cabin that provides almost 360º visibility, one of the most significant elements of the MZ range that ensures easy docking and manoeuvrability. It also has a toilet, a complete console with the latest electronic equipment and all the necessary tools to carry out inspection work.

A modern and functional design, capable of reaching high speeds and specifically designed to fulfil its task, while its structure and equipment ensure its reliability and comfort in navigation in all types of conditions.

After the construction work, equipment and first tests along Vigo’s Bay, the MZ10 was moved to Ibiza for its delivery and final on-site evaluations before starting work in Mediterranean waters. This project completion represents a new milestone for AISTER shipyard, which closes a successful 2022 in which designs and constructions evolution places us, once again, at the sector forefront. Our ability to adapt, together with the benefits offered by naval aluminium construction, allows us to be open to shipowners’ needs and meet each project objectives.
