Navantia strengthens its presence in France as an offshore wind supplier

Its shipyard in Fene has shipped the first jacket that will be destined for the Ailes Marines wind farm
Navantia's shipyard in Fene started a few days ago the shipment of the first four jackets that will be destined for the Ailes Marines wind farm in St. Brieuc, Brittany, France. The wind farm covers an area of 75 km² and has a generating capacity of up to 496 MW.
The program, which consists of 62 jackets, is a pioneering project for the Navantia Windar consortium, which reinforces the company's position as a leading supplier of offshore wind energy in France, "with one of the greatest offshore development potentials in Europe", according to the company.
Each foundation weighs 1150 tons and measures 75 meters high and 25 meters wide. They are scheduled to travel to Cherbourg awaiting installation at the St Brieuc offshore wind farm during the summer.
