Astilleros San Enrique begins new buildings with an 80-m trawler for Chile
PescaChile shipowner will invest 35 million Euros
Astilleros San Enrique, the Meridional Marina Group commitment to reactivate the old Vulcano Factory production unit in Vigo after definitively obtaining the administrative concession for the land, has announced its first contract: an 80-m long trawler and 17-m wide for the Chilean shipowner PescaChile, formerly part of Pescanova group. The shipyard has announced the forthcoming contract signature for the ship, worth 35 million euros, within the framework of Navalia, the International Shipbuilding Exhibition in Vigo, where they debut.
The shipyard indicates the "official" contract has an execution period of 18 months. Works will begin after the shipyard facilities optimization in Vigo. The company plans to hire 200 professionals, including 15 outsourcing.
‘We feel, therefore, really satisfied and with very good expectations since, in addition to this contract, we are also advancing in other projects, both new marine and industrial construction, which we are currently closing the agreement with other clients’, asserts Juan Moreno, Marina Meridional CEO.
