DRONES, the future of class inspections
PIRODRONE, the first Spanish drone company dedicated solely and exclusively to the Naval & Offshore sector, obtains the definitive certification from Bureau Veritas.
The advantages of drones to sectors such as renewable energy or audiovisual are already known, but until recently there would not be many options for the needs demanded by inspections in the naval sector.
Thanks to new technologies and their implementation in the sector that concerns us, drones covered by a carbon mesh have appeared on the market capable of flying inside ballast tanks or cargo holds in the total absence of GPSs, reducing costs and inspection times and increased safety of operations by avoiding having to install scaffolding or perform work at height with ropes or cranes.
Classification agencies such as Bureau Veritas, DNV or ClassNK have not wanted to be left out and have implemented the relevant ones among their certifications so that this type of system, drones, can be used as another tool to carry out class inspections. , and here’s where PIRODRONE comes in.
This newly created company that appeared in the midst of a pandemic already has the final certification from Bureau Veritas as a “Service Provider of Remote Inspection Techniques with DRONES”. Dedicated solely and exclusively to the naval sector, PIRODRONE will be present at NAVALIA, where they will carry out a live remote inspection during the technical sessions on the 26th.
