Nuevo Astillero de Huelva enters the electric catamaran market
The Marina Meridional shipyard will build the orders of Multihull Industries
Nuevo Astillero de Huelva, part of the Marina Meridional holding company, will enter the segment of electric propulsion ships thanks to the new contract signed with Multihull Industries. Specifically, the shipyard located on the grounds of Huelva Port Authority has been commissioned to manufacture a Smart Concep 87 electric catamaran, which will be succeeded by other units of different models. With a length of 26.7 m and a beam of 12.5 m, the Smart Concep 87 will have 3 decks with capacity for 12 passengers and three crew members. Equipped with two 1,200 hp engines, it will be able to reach a cruising speed of 20 knots.
Marina Meridional, which is waiting to obtain green light to reactivate Vulcano facilities in Vigo, expresses its satisfaction with the agreement placing them as the selected shipyard for the construction of all the catamarans designed by Multihull engineering and design group Industries SL.
