Murueta trawler “Tuugaalik” leadings the first launch of the year on shipbuilding

The freezer vessel, for Greenlandic shipowner Qaleralik A / S, is 82.30-meters-long and will be delivered in 2023
Astilleros de Murueta has starred in first launch of the year for Spanish navy. The company's facilities in Erandio, on Bilbao’s Bay, was scene of “Tuugaalik” freezer trawler launching for the Greenlandic shipowner Qaleralik A / S -participated by Royal Greenland-, an 82.30-meter fishing vessel. Murueta’s 326 Construction incorporates highest technology and will be ready to carry out the complete fishing processing from catching to its commercial distribution. It is specially designed for Greenland prawn fishing. Altogether, there are now four ships Murueta builds for a Greenlandic shipowner.
The construction of the “Tuugaalik” reaffirms Murueta's objective of “positioning itself as a benchmark shipyard in the construction of factory trawlers”. The trawler meets a fundamental milestone, as it is the incorporation of the highest safety standards for the crew and for all types of operations and weather conditions, designed to make life on board as comfortable as possible for the crew. Its delivery is scheduled to be next 2023.
At the same time, the shipyard is building a hybrid propulsion fuel supply (bunkering) vessel for the shipowner Mureoil, whose delivery is scheduled this 2022. It will be the first vessel of this type designed with hybrid propulsion, thanks to an innovative energy storage system using batteries. The shipyard also has in its portfolio two state-of-art innovative diesel-electric propulsion cargo ships.
