Siemens creates a training centre in Ferrol focused on shipbuilding industry digitalization boosting
The training programs will be developed at the Shipbuilding Industry Excellence Centre (CESENA) the multinational has in the Galician city
Siemens has created the "Marine Digital Twin" at the Shipbuilding Industry Excellence Centre (Cesena), located in Ferrol, a training centre to promote shipbuilding industry digitization with an educational program exclusively focused on the sector digital dimension. The project, which is part of the collaboration agreement with Navantia and Pymar, look for a develop in the digitization of the sector "so that Shipyard 4.0 dream becomes true," the multinational said.
The comprehensive program will be taught by Siemens and aims to train professionals heading digital management operations and value chain around Digital Twin technology.
"Marine Digital Twin (MDT)" educational program is based on training itineraries based on the Siemens Digital Industries team experiences and the most qualified professionals in the shipbuilding industry. Naval Architect, Naval Structures Designer, Electrical Designer, Mechanical Designer, Calculation and Simulation Engineer and PLM Administrator, are some of the training itineraries to offer.
Through Cesena, Siemens is committed to boost and energize Spanish shipbuilding industry digital transformation. Now, thanks to the creation of the Training Centre, it reinforces one of its pillars: education in digitization of the national shipbuilding sector.
The company anticipates the number of learning itineraries and courses will grow and be modelled on the needs of the sector. Theoretical and practical training will focus on the use of different Siemen’s solutions and their application in the shipbuilding industry.
