Cardama launches a multipurpose vessel for Senegal

This is the vessel 243 of the shipyard from Vigo.

Francisco Cardama shipyard (Vigo) has launched a multipurpose vessel for Senegal, which includes functions for rescue tasks, firefighting, pollution prevention and tug. The company started the construction of the vessel in March 2016. This is the C-243 from this shipyard.

With 12,20 metres in-length, the vessel will be equipped with two engines with a total power of 4500 cv and a minimum bollard-pull of 60 tons (this is the measure that establishes the amount of force a tug is able to apply while manoeuvring).

The vessel was designed by the engineering office from Vigo CNV Naval Architect with a wide previous experience in tugs, oceanographic and fishing vessels of all kinds, from longline, trawlers vessels to little coastal boats. CNV Naval also designed a multipurpose ship for Irak, also built by Cardama and delivered last summer, whose contract rose to 10 million dollars (9,6 million euros).
