Kjersti Kleven from Norway will substitute Danish Kjeld Dittmann in Seaeurope’s presidency.

Seaeurope’s convention, the European Naval Organization has chosen Vigo to perform its annual meeting. A total of 36 representatives from the most important shipyards and auxiliary industries within the sector in the continent have met at the Port Authority facilities in a meeting organized by the Gallaecian Naval Cluster, ACLUNAGA, directed by Marcos Freire, in cooperation with Navantia. It is the first meeting of this kind performed in Spain and where a new president was chosen. Kjersti Kleven from Keven Industries Norway will substitute the Danish Kjeld Dittmann on his post.
Previous to this morning session, several groups of work met yesterday in order to talk about the upturn period that the naval sector is living again, mainly regarding to the Gallaecian shipyards. Among others, Meyer Werft German shipyard director also took part, who had the opportunity to visit several factories within Vigo’s Bay; as well as, Wilfried Lemmens, president of the Belgian Shipowners Association, and the president of the Italian Fincantieri, who are specialized in the Cruisers construction, an unknown segment up to now, not only in Galicia, but also in Spain, in which Barreras will perform for the first time after the contract signature on Tuesday with the Naval division of the hotel chain Ritz-Carlton.
