Freire, the shipyard from Vigo launches the most advanced ocean graphic vessel in the world

After today's launch, the definitive deadline for NERC, entity equivalent to the Spanish Scientific Investigation Centre (CSIC), is June 2013 The shipyard from Vigo, Freire has launch today the "Discovery", the most advanced ocean graphic vessel in the world, which building has been hired by the British Environmental Investigation Institute (NERC).
The vessel, 99.70 meters long, 18 meters wide and 52 people capacity, 28 of them Scientifics, is an order that Freire received in May 2012 after wining the international tender between 22 shipyards from all over the world.
After today's launch, the definitive deadline for NERC, entity equivalent to the Spanish Scientific Investigation Centre (CSIC), IS June 2013.
The marketing manager of the company, Guillermo Freire, explains to EFE that the "Discovery" is "the most advanced ocean graphic vessel that could be found in market", because it includes "last technological advances", which turn it into "a worldwide reference".
It is equipped with six laboratories: the main one, one for multiple aims, another on deck, one chemical, another environmental and the last one bioluminescence, apart from a salinity measurement room and a main hangar.
All this technology turn it into a research platform about the most important environment problems and about the oceans roll in the climate change, the submarine landslide cartography and earthquakes and the study of unique and unknown ecosystems.
Guillermo Freire considers "good luck" to receive this order just before the naval crisis worsening, because it allows maintaining workload until next year.
The shipyard from Vigo is looking forward "good news" that could be produced between April and May and summer months, when three tenders will be decided by governments out of Europe.
