Barreras will deliver this week the biggest "ferry" built in the shipyard

The "Volcán del Teide" which is 178 meters long and 24 meter wide joined the Armas's fleet The ship owner Armas will receive next days the "Volcán del Teide" ferry, built by the shipyard from Vigo Hijos de J. Barreras. This vessel can reach a service speed of 26 knots, which means that it saves a lot of crossing time; it is 178 meters long and 26.4 meter wide, and it has a capacity of 1.600 passengers.
The "Volcán del Teide" is the first of the two ferries ordered by Armas to Hijos de J. Barreras to renew its fleet. The second vessel, the "Volcán de Tinamar", will be launched the next 20th of January and it will begin to work on 2011 spring. The ship owner will have then nine new ferries that complete the total renewal of its fleet begun in 2003. (Source: FARO DE VIGO)
