C.N.P. FREIRE WILL CONSTRUCT SHIPS OF CABOTAGE FOR ENGLAND
A series of six ships is prepared for the English shipbuilder Carisbrooke Shipping The shipyar C.N.P. Freire, in Vigo, has initiated the construction of a series of six ships of cabotage, with option to other two, for the English shipbuilder Carisbrooke Shipping. The keel of the first one has been already put and they are beginning to cut the plate of the second. The first of the six boats will be given in December of 2006 and the other four, every three months, until March of 2008, when the last one will be given. The contracts of the other two ships will take effect soon and will be given throughout 2008
These eight ships of cabotage have 98.80 meters of length, 14.50 of sleeve and 6.3 of openwork. They are freight-carrying ships of 5000 tons of death weight.They will transport fundamentally grain, cement, coils of paper and granite, and will take to 48 containers of 20 feet in cover.
