Metalships repairs four ships in Teis (Vigo)
The shipyard announces next resumption of specialized vessels construction
Metalships has taken on the work of commissioning four large vessels at its shipyard in Teis. They are the tuna vessel Talenduic and the supply and tugboat Ocean OSprey, both more than sixty-meters-long. The other two exceed one hundred meters in length. They are the general cargo ship Frieda and the heavy lift carrier Jumbo Vision.
The shipyard has 154 people working on repairing and maintenance tasks on these four ships.
Painting work is being carried out on the hull, decks, and superstructures on the tuna vessel. Also, some notes on steel in several parts, as well as the recognition and calibration of the propulsion line.
On the Ocean OSprey the ship's paint scheme will be renewed, adapting it for the Spanish Navy.
As for the Frieda, the loading cranes are being renewed, the hull painted, as well as other electrical and propulsion maintenance work. The action on the Jumbo Vision is also very extensive, with engine maintenance, steel work and painting, among other actions.
Metalships says they will return to construction soon. They have announced their return to shipbuilding, with a specialized vessel which is in the financing process.
