Rodman begins the construction of three deep sea patrol boats for Spanish customs

The order was signed last January for 18.8 million euros. The boats will be 35.3 meters-long
Rodman Polyships continues with the construction of patrol boats for the State Tax Administration Agency. Specifically, the shipyard from Moaña has announced the start of manufacturing three high-altitude units based on its Rodman 111 model: high-altitude patrol boats, intended for surveillance tasks at sea, repression of smuggling, interception, and search. The contract was awarded at the end of last year and coincided with several vessels for Customs and the Navy. In total there were 14 boats for almost 45 million euros. Among them were eight high-speed patrol boats (Rodman 55) whose manufacture also started recently.
The boats will be 35.3 meters-long and 6.2 meters-wide. In addition, they will be able to reach a maximum speed of 35 knots and will have a capacity for 10 people. As the shipyard, explained, the execution period is 36 months for all the units, 16 months for the first vessel and later the remaining 2 will be delivered with a cadence of 10 months between each one of them. These three units follow in the wake of what is considered the largest fibre patrol boat in Europe, the Rodman 138 model, built in 2021 also for Customs. In his case it was 43 meters-long.
